Clinical research is a type of medical and health study that aims to provide knowledge that will aid in the understanding of human disease, the prevention and treatment of illness, and the promotion of health. Clinical research encompasses a broad array of investigations that involve patient interaction, diagnostic clinical materials or data, or demographics.
Clinical trials are human-centered research studies. Doctors use clinical trials to discover novel approaches to improve disease treatments and patient quality of life. People are living longer lives today as a result of successful cancer treatments developed through clinical trials in the past. Doctors use clinical trials to see if new medicines are safe and effective, and if they function better than existing treatments. Clinical trials also aid in the discovery of new cancer prevention and detection methods.
