Abstract:
Background: Chemotherapy-related side effects are a common challenge in cancer care and require continuous clinical monitoring and supportive management to ensure patient safety and treatment adherence.
Objective: To outline practical approaches for the management of chemotherapy-induced side effects in cancer patients, based on clinical experience in an oncology care setting in Gaza.
Methods: This presentation is based on routine clinical practice and observational experience during chemotherapy administration and follow-up. It focuses on nursing assessment, monitoring of adverse effects, patient education, and supportive care measures applied according to standard safety protocols.
Results: Early identification of side effects and timely supportive interventions contributed to improved symptom control and supported continuity of chemotherapy treatment. Adaptation of standard clinical practices to local working conditions enabled effective management of common toxicities.
Conclusion: Practical, patient-centered management of chemotherapy side effects is essential to maintaining safe and effective cancer care. Sharing clinical experience from routine oncology practice may support healthcare professionals working in similar care settings.
