Biography:
Dr. Phyu Ou Maung studied dentistry at University of Dental Medicine, Mandalay, Myanmar (UDMM) and graduated as Bachelor of Dental Surgeon (BDS) in 2010. In 2011, she joined to the cancer research projects with Prof. Dr. Anahid Jewett at Jane and Jerry Weintraub Center and received Master of Science (Oral Biology) from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), School of Dentistry in 2014. She attained the highest research grant for "Systemic Bone Density and Clinical Oral Health Status in Menopaused Women" in 2018 awarded by Department of Medical Research, Ministry of Health, Myanmar. In 2021, she started her further degree and achieved Dr.D.Sc (Oral Medicine) from UDMM in 2024. She has contributed her findings as co-auther in Frontiers in Immunology, Journal of OncoImmunology and Cancers. Her recent research in oral cancer dedicates the early diagnosis and determinations of prognosis in the patients with oral cancer in Myanmar.
